QUESTION: i have a 91 fleetwood brougham 5.0l 307. i can drive the car for a while but when i slow down after the car has been running for a while it cuts off. it craks right back up but will eventually cut off when at a stop sign or when i slow down under 5 to 10 mph.

ANSWER: IS or HAS the CHECK ENGINE light on the dash ever illuminated while driving the vehicle ?.

Has anyone replaced ANY parts or made ANY adjustments in the engine compartment at any time and if so, WHAT was done.

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: yes the engine in the vehicle is not the original it is areplacement engine. the check engine light has been on since i got the engine replaced. the only adjustment made since the engine has been replaced was the fuel pump and the air temp sensor

Answer
There is a way to retrieve the codes from the computer but with this engine you CANNOT use the climate control panel.

You have to jumper 2 wires in the ALDL connector under the dash to get the flashing light codes.

It would be much easier for you to take the car to autozone and they will get the codes for you.

OR easier yet for me, If you have a video camera I can tell you how to jumper the connector and you can video tape the flashing check engine light so I can decipher the codes.

You will need picture locations of the component to of which can't be done on this website which only allows one picture. I do not have a website so you will have to e-mail: onlineautohelp@msn.com in order to obtain the information.
