Expert: autohelp Date: 7/20/2008 Subject: A/C clutch problem
Question I have a 1992 caddy sedan deville cly. and the clutch is dragging on the compressor even when the system is off. I even tried to pull the AC fuse out and it's still dragging making a grinding noise.. at this point i don't care if the A/C system works or not, I just want to stop the the clutch from dragging on the compressor. what can i do to stop the noise and or drag?
Answer Unplug the electrical connection at the backside of the clutch. Should be a 2 wire connector.
The best thing to do is replace the clutch and get the A/C working.
