QUESTION: I have a a problem with my 96' cadillac sedan deville. Im have trouble starting off my car sometimes, mainly in the mornings or after about 20min that i turn off the engine. sometimes it backfires and i smell gas (i guess it comes from the muffler). The dash is digital, service transmission, service ride control, service emission system, will sometimes appear. the orange Traction Control and Service Engine light are on. the codes i got are TC0073, IR1740, PC0741 theses three codes are CURRENT. are the HISTORY Codes important? please help.

ANSWER: If you are mechanicaly inclined or know of someone who is, You will need simple electrical schematics, Test procedures and picture locations of the components within the system that is causing you problems of which can't be done on this website which only allows one picture.
