Question
My boyfriend has a 91 Cadillac Deville with an ignition key with a chip in it.  Often times the car will not start immediately.  He is suggesting to me that it is the chip in the key that is causing the problem.  could this problem be solved simply by getting another key or is it more complex than that?

Your problem could be the:

Key

ignition switch.

wires from ignition switch to the PASS-KEY module.

PASS-KEY module.

Starter relay.




IS or HAS the CHECK ENGINE light ever illuminated on the dash ?.

Have you seen any MESSAGES in the MESSAGE CENTER ?.
