Question Pulled into a parking lot yesterday. Parked the car. When I returned I inserted the key into the ignition everything inside lighted up as normal however the key in the ignition would not go all the way forward to engage the starter. Acted as if it was sort of stuck. Tried a different newer key still the key would not go all the way over the start the car. Ignition problem? if so tell me what to do. The car is still sitting. Thanks Jeff
Answer You can try putting a SMALL amount of any type of oil on your ignition key and work it back and forth into the ignition switch to see if the LIGHT FILM of oil on the ignition key helps to loosen a possible stuck tumbler in the ignition lock cylinder.
If this does not help, You have a fault in the ignition switch electrical switch mounted on the steering column under the dash.
