Cadillac Repair/92 Coupe DeVille blower motor problem

Question
QUESTION: The car is a 92 Coupe DeVille. The problem I have with it is that the ac/heater blower motor won't shut off at all unless I disconnect the battery. It seems that the climate control unit on the dash is working but it doesn't regulate the blower motor which stays at one speed all the time. I'm pretty sure it is switching on the a/c when I regulate the temperature but I could be wrong.

I'm not a mechanic but have been around cars all my life and enjoy fixing things on my own. I even rebuilt a few engines and trannys that worked in my days!! Of course it always helps to get some advice from the pros like yourselves to help eliminate some of the troubleshooting.

I'm thinking (and dreading) that there is a short somewhere but I'm hoping it might be something as simple as a relay. I disconnected all of the relays under the sound cover at the firewall and that had no effect.

Do you have any idea what my problem might be? If you think it's a short too where would be the best places to look for it or can I just cut a wire some place and create a bypass?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide on this matter

Answer
This is a SIMPLE fixable problem that my grandmother could do.

If you are mechanicaly inclined or know of someone who is, You will need a DIGITAL VOLT/OHM METER, Simple electrical schematics, Test procedures and picture locations of the components within the system that is causing you problems of which can't be done on this website which only allows one picture. I do not have a website so you will have to e-mail: onlineautohelp@msn.com in order to obtain the information necessary to fix your vehicle.
