QUESTION: I understand that there are 2 crankshaft sensors a & b .
Where do i look for these 2 sensors?
Are aftermarket products ok to use or should i go with cadillac products ?
How hard are these to install & how long should it take ?

QUESTION: Yes, but with a question. How do I know which sensors is A or B?
The parts house only gives you parts numbers. I took a guess at the lowesr part number as the A. It was the black one. When I took it out it had an "A" on it. But the after market part doesn't have an A or B on it. Why two sensors? Had to remove the air shield below the radiator to get to the sensors. Very tight area to work. Needed to use 1/4" drive. With only 55,000 miles on this car, how long will these sensors last? Should I have changed both?
ANSWER: I would have recommended changing BOTH.
Did you reset the computer or does the CHECK ENGINE light still come on ?.

QUESTION: The light went off after I reset, using the computer and following the proceedure. Going forward, I would like to know (1) How do I know which one is "A" or "B"? (2) Is after market parts ok? (3) How long will these sensors last? (4) Why 2 sensors?
Answer
The upper sensor is "A" and the lower is "B".
Aftermarkets are ok to use.
sensors are like light bulbs in your home. You never know how long they will last.
One sensor is used to determine ANGLE BASED crankshaft position and the other is to determine TIME BASED crankshaft position.
