Question
Sometimes when I start my car the door to my gas tank opens automatically even though I have not pressed the button on the dash. How do I stop this? The car is a 1996 El Dorado with 55000 miles.
Try just turning the ignition switch to the ON position without trying to start the engine and see if the gas door pops open. If it does NOT, With the ignition switch still in the ON position, Try tapping all around the gas door switch with your hand without actually touching the gas door switch and see if it opens and let me know.
