Question
The Traction Disabled message keeps coming up on the message board.  I took it to the shop and the codes they pulled were for a brake switch and something to do with the ABS.  They want to replace the brake switch first does this sound like the correct course of action?  P.S. the cruise control doesn't work so I was wondering if this was causing the brake switch code to come up?  Can you give some advice on what the problem may be so I don't spend more money than necessary?

Answer
The first thing I would test would be the brake switch. You have to perform test procedures on the different components in order to get a diagnosis. If you are fairly mechanically inclined you can e-mail: onlineautohelp@msn.com and he can guide you through the process of testing the brake switch and other components for less than half the cost of the dealer will charge you.
