Question
My radiator and heater core have collected gunk that was in the system (the former owner may have used stop leak). I have replaced the radiator and water pump and would prefer not to replace the heater core, can I flush the heater core with a garden hose? Does reversing the water flow directio help to flush it? The top heater hose was cold and plugged up, it was cleared and reinstalled. Can you give me any tips to regain heat in my car, especially the windshield?

Answer
Reverse flushing the heater core can SOMETIMES unclog it, But in most cases you will most likely have to replace it.
