Cadillac Repair/93 Deville running rough and stalling

Question
My 1993 Cadillac Deville is running very rough and stalling at red lights. Could the oxygen sensor cause this? Since it occurs above idle I am ruling out the idle control valve - am I wrong? What else could cause this?

Answer
IF you had an oxygen sensor fault you would have seen the CHECK ENGINE light on the dash illuminate while driving the vehicle.

If you have disconnected the battery and or replaced the vehicles computer you need to perform what is called a RE-LEARN procedure to teach the computer where the idle speed should be.

You should also clean any blackish residue from the throttle plate area which causes stalling such as yours.
