Question
the rod in the ignition switch broke and left the car in the on postion. i took battery cables off and towwed home. i found a complete column from air bag to fire wall?(key included) off a super low miles car at the  yard. instead of changing ignition i changed the whole column. when i took the old column out the back side of switch went flying. i recovered what i thought were all pieaces and proceded. when i start the car it turns over no fire, no spark checked. everything works like lights radio etc. i then took it to caddy dealer to have key checked. they say that is not the problem. i can only think that i did not get all flying pieaces or get it toghether right. can anybody get me a schematic off the switch so i can see all pieaces and how the go together. also any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
There is no exploded view of the switch in the manufacturers service manual. You will need to replace the switch.

The KEY WILL become a problem as it will not match the secrity PASS-KEY setting in the pass-key module.

You will need to install the old lock cylinder in the new steering column so you can use your original key.
