comes on again. 1wk later again and i added water since i
didnt have antifreez and steam? alot of steam was coming
out of the tail pipes.
1. the dealer said they have had a few 99 cadilacs come
back because the head bolts strip out the block and you
have to replace the motor?
2.is this common?
3. is there a recall? / why not?
4. if I drain the water out and add just antifrezze will it
smoke less so it can be traded back to the dealer that i
got it from? i know its not moral but i have had the car
for six months and still owe money on it and the repair
will cost more than the 5g i owe.

ANSWER: There is NOTHING you can do about the smoke from the exhaust except to replace the engine.

QUESTION: what about the other questions?

Answer
You won't be able to trae ir back to the dealer. Why do you think he sold it to YOU ?>

You can TRY and replace the antifreeze in a 50/50 mixture and add the SEALING PELLETS to the coolant system to try and reseal the head gaskets but you chance of fixing it enough to sell it is 50/50.

ALL of the engines in and around 99 ALL had bad engines.

There is NO fix for this engine. It is common to EVERY ENGINE around the year make of your vehicle. ALL the engines were faulty due to stripped head bolts.
