Question Hi, I have a 1994 SLS. Message states "starting disabled due to anti-theft system" Having read through similar problems in the past answer section, I'm assuming I'll have to bypass the system. How do you measure the resistance of the key? And would you please explain the bypassing procedure? Thanks.
Answer What you have is a problem with the PASS-KEY system.
The problem could be:
ignition key.
ignition lock cylinder.
Pass-key module.
all related wiring.
What you need to do is to perform some simple test procedures using a DIGITAL VOLT/OHM METER which you can purchase most anywhere for $20.00.
Once you have this meter you need to e-mail:

for pictures and test procedures to find the faulty component.
