Cadillac Repair - cadillac v4-6-8

Expert: autohelp - 6/23/2009

Question
QUESTION: how do i disengage my cadillac v4-6-8 so that it is running in just v8 mode?  thanks!

ANSWER: I do NOT alter ANY manufacturers design.

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: ok, you dont alter manufactires design, but i do. this is something that has been discussed on allexperts.com but gives no directions on how to disengage the cylinders. The v4-6-8's were very problematic and it is very common for the cylinder shutoff technology to be disengaged, i just do not know how to do it and my mechanic said it was easy to do but for him it would cost me his time in labour. if you do not want to provide an answer to me please pass my problem along to someone who will. thank you for your time!

Answer
I am the only expert on this answer site, I could be WRONG) You can provide you with the answer to your question. The reason I cannot give you the answer is that it will cause excessive exhaust emissions to be expelled into our already overly polluted atmosphere.

I can tell you how to FIX the 8-6-4 system but I cannot tell you how to alter it and I do not condone such practices.

I hope you can see my point of view.
