Question
I am interested in purchasing a 1997 cadillac deville from a friend for about 500 bucks.  They said the engine was overheating really bad and will probably need a new motor.  The body has roughly 120k miles.  Is it worth getting an engine replacement and if so what would I be looking at as far as replacement cost? And how the hell do I find a good used motor?  And how the hell am i supposed to find someone to install it!!! LOL  HELP!!!

Answer
Don't even think about purchasing this vehicle .

You would have to purchase a rebuilt engine or have the one in the vehicle rebuilt by a professional engine rebiler facility as the threaded head bolt holes in the engine block have to be drilled out and have steel heli-coils installed and have bigger head bolts installed and then to try and find someone to install it will cost you an approx total of $5000-$6000.

PASS on this purchase.
