Question
i had the 91 el Dorado air conditioning system changed from R-12 to R-134a. the air conditioner worked for awhile but now computer says sensor. its been at the shop 6 weeks. mechanic cant find a new sensor anywhere. i called the dealership and they don't make it anymore. mechanic says he did conversion with a kit and there is no calibration for the sensor. just needs a new one. im ready to sell it as with no air no good. do you know how i can order a sensor??

Answer
You CANNOT convert this system from R-12 due to the calibration of the sensor. To date there is no one who makes a sensor to correct your problem.

There were NUMEROUS factory service bulletins telling the dealers service technicians that they are NOT to convert to R-134a due to this sensor calibration issue.
