Cadillac Repair/cadillac stability message

Question
We have the stability engaged message coming on all the time but it is accompanied by a grinding feeling in the pedals that almost seems like an ABS is engaging or the car is down shifting or something. The RPMs seem to go down and the car will slow and eventually the brakes balk, so it does not seem to be a harmless message. But the manual makes no reference on what systems this stability is controlling.

Answer
What you have is a TRACTION CONTROL FAULT.
