Question
QUESTION: '99 cadillac deville I replaced the radiator, pass. side cooling fan, & the 50 amp. fuse that controls the cooling fans. the cooling fans will not come on, I warmed the engine up to 250 degrees (according to the dash display) the coolant is full. Is there a relay or sensor I can check?

ANSWER: IS or HAS the CHECK ENGINE light ever illuminated while driving the vehicle ?.

There are THREE (3) relays mounted between the fans at the bottom of the fans. STRONGLY suggest performing test procedures and or replacing all 3 relays.

IF you have a CHECK ENGINE ligh illumination per above, Do NOT replace the relays until we resolve the CHECK ENGINE light problem.

QUESTION: Follow up question. Code reader says 4 codes but only gave 2 numbers. p0340 camshaft position sensor bank 1 citcuit malfunction. p1660 didn't get the discription for this one. Do either of these affect the cooling fans?

Answer

I STRONGLY suggest that you replace BOTH CAMSHAFT SENSORS.

P1660 = Cooling fans control circuit fault.

If you are mechanicaly inclined or know of someone who is, You will need a DIGITAL VOLT/OHM METER, Simple electrical schematics, Test procedures and picture locations of the components within the system that is causing you problems of which can't be done on this website which only allows one picture. I do not have a website so you will have to e-mail: onlineautohelp@msn.com in order to obtain the information necessary to fix your vehicle.
