Question
QUESTION: I replace the switch on drivers door, all the other door switch work but the drives won't operate any of them. The mirror control works just 4 button switch on door doesn't. Is there a reset button somewhere for windows or so thing else i am missing?

ANSWER: Hello,

You say you replaced the switch, but you did not state if it was a used or new switch.

There is no reset as you put it, however my first thought wold be that there is no power getting from the driver's switch to the other windows which means either a bad switch or a wiring issue at the driver's door. You did not say why you replaced the switch in the first place. was it for this reason on a guess or some other problem.

The old GMs were notorious for breaking wires in the boot at the pinch point on the front of the driver's door. The plastic gets hard and brittle on the wiring and the wires break. Good chance that is what you are dealing with and not a simple job to do.

QUESTION: yes it just stop working so I called around new part houses said they didn't have the part so I found one at a junk yard Now if I take  switch out  all other switch  don't work  but I plug it back and all doors work but  the drivers. the  electic mirror  works on drivers door its a seperet switch it has power

Answer
Hello,

Yes that is true the other windows won't work if driver switch is not plugged in.  As I stated before, your driver's door swtch is isolated. The other winows get their power from the driver's side, but due to a switch or a broken wire in the boot, your switch is not supplying power to the other windows. If you changed the switch for this problem and still have the same problem, you need. To check the wiring.

Alarm system questions cannot be answered on this forum. These systems are not what I can answer. Without being physically at the vehicle and not knowing what kind of electrical service has been done on the vehicle, there is no possible way to give an accurate answer over the internet. My expertise is in Ignition/key based anti-theft systems. These issues include GM VATS (resistor chip in key blade) PASSLOCK (MRD)-ignition lock rotation based, no special ignition key and the PKIII Transponder (computer chip in key) systems. These systems are not alarm based and are integral with the starting of the engine. This is why I cannot diagnose alarm problems without physically looking at the vehicle: Alarm systems are a completely different annimal than ignition key/lock based anti-theft system. Many alarm questions come from vehicles 10 years old, and since older, many hands that had been involved over the years.I am an expert in all GM factory (ignition/key based)systems. Alarm system questions pose to many situations beyond my knowledge as to what has been done to the vehicle over the years. Some guy may have actually wired the stereo into the alarm system. Who knows? Over my past 30 years in vehicle wiring repair, I have seen unbelievable wiring disaters done by guys that consider themselves "mechanics." I have seen stereos and alarms intalled using surgical tape. I have seen modules burn up, un-fused circuits, wiring jambed between the doors and even lamp cord used for a starter kill. To answer alarm questions over the internet without examining the vehicle is like asking; What does it take to remove a dent?
