Question
hi. i really need help with these problems below. i have tried finding the answer, but i keep gettin stuck. thanks alot!

1- solve for x. 1/8=4^(6x+2)

2- identify the right hand and left hand behavior of the graph of the polynomial function. f(x)= -6x^2-2x

3- find (fg)(x) for f(x)=25-x^2 and g(x)=5-x

Answer
#1) Take the log base 4 of both side.  Then on the right side you can take (log base 4)(4^(6x+2)) and convert it to
(6x+2)(log base 4)(4) = 6x+2.  Do the same to the left side of the equation in each step.

#2) Graph it and you will see if each side goes up or down.

#3) Take f(y)=25-y^2 and y=g(x).  Substitue what is y into the first eqution for f.

If #3 was the equation (gf), you would find f and substitute it into g.
