Question
Sir
I am very confused that how to shade graph of inequalities? In my book the shaded part is a region but I dont know from where this region is drawn?I mean do i have to draw lines parallel to axes? Like i want to draw and shade the graph of   x - 2y < = 6(less than or equal to both)?Kindly guide me.Thanks

Answer
The best way I've found to do it starts with drawing the line
x - 2y = 6.  This would be better if it was in the form y = mx + b,
so subtract x from both sides, then divide the entire equation by -2.
NOw that it's in the form y = mx + b, m is the slope and m is y=b is the y interecept.

Once you have drawn this, take the point (0,0) and put it into the equation.  Is this x - 3y ≤ 6 when (x,y) = (0,0)?

Since it is, you want to shade in on the side of the line that has the origin in it.
