Question
How to sketch the surface with equation z^2= 2x + 4y^2

Answer
You may see that z^2= 2x + 4y^2 is not a 3D function but 3D object
symmetric along the x-y plane. & this object is consolidate with the
x-y plane along the curve x+y^2=0. What we want to do next is to
find the critical points by calculating the quadratic form & set
it equal to zero. & then to find the domain of increase & decrease.
You may use a numerical program applet such as MATLAB to sketch
such objects.
