Question
  Suppose a particle is observed moving along a straight line, and suppose  that the velocity v of the particle as a function of time t is given by v(t)=2sin*t*pi (mm/s).
   a)Find the net change in the position of the particle in the first 3 seconds;
   b)Find the time t when the particle is at the rest in the first 3 seconds;
   c)Find the total distance travelled by the particle during the first 3 seconds.

Answer
v(t)=2sin(pit)
The particle is at rest when v(t)=0. Therefore : sin(pit)=0 --> t=0+k*pi --> t=pi .
x(t)=-(2/pi)cos(pit) "The position function"
The neto change of the position is Integral of x(t), t goes from 0 to 3 :
Neto=-(2/pi^2)sin(pit){at t=3)=-(2/pi^2)sin(3pi)=0
To find total change ,we calculate Integral of |v(t) .
