Question
My name is Kira Yuta I am in grade eleven in USA

I am studying for my final exam and I came a upon this questions I do not understand. I hope you can help me

I do not understand Part A questions (1,2 and 3) on this page:

Answer
Ok Kira , let's start with section 1 :
We need to write an equation for the parabola . Let's review some
of the fact concerning our graph :
The minimun is located on y=11, & the point of intercept with the
x-axis is +3 & -3 , thus , the equation will be :
y=-x²+9.

Section 2:
We can easily see that the graph of section 1 is shifted 2 units
to the left, thus :
y=-(x+2)²+9.

Sectio 3:
The ice hits the ground at point (x1,0). To find x1 , we substitute
y=0 into the equation of the parabola : y-12.250=-[(4.9)/62.500]x²
we get 12.250=[(4.9)/62.500]x², & we solve for x .
