Question
Please help me find the limit of this problem:
(2-x)/(x^2-4), with the limit x->2. Thank you so much!

Answer
Hi Rebecca,
Inserting the limit directly creates a problem because we get an indeterminate form of 0/0 so what we do is simplify the expression.
(2-x)/(x²-4) = (2-x)/(x-2)(x+2)
            = -(x-2)/(x-2)(x+2)
            = -1/(x+2)
And so our answer after inserting the limit this time is
-1/(2+2) = -1/4
