Hello, just a quick question. What would be the domain of the function f(x) = (x-2)/(x^3+x) ?

Answer
The only way a point can't be in the domain is if the function is trying to find the squareroot of a negative number or the function is divided by 0.

There are no squareroots in this function, but we do have a denominator.

The restrictions would be everywere except where x³+x = 0.
That would be at x(x²+1) = 0. Note that x²+1 is never 0,
so the only way the denominator would be 0 was if x = 0.

That is the only number (x=0) not in the domain.
