Subject: calculus x and y intercepts
Question: what are the x and y intercepts of f(x)= (x+5)/(x-4)...thank you!

1. Write  y = (x+5)/(x-4)

2. For the y-intercept:  set  x = 0 and find y.

3. For the x-intercept:  set  y = 0, or (x+5)/(x-4) = 0, and solve for x.

[hint:  x = 4 will NOT be a solution.]
