Question
1. In a recent pretrial run for the world water water speed record, the velocity of
Sea Falcon II t seconds after firing the booster rocket was given by
v (t )=−t2+ 20t+ 440 (0≤t≤20)
feet/second.
a. Estimate the distance covered by the boat over the 20-sec period after
the booster rocket was activated. Use 4 subintervals of equal length and
use the midpoint of each subinterval to construct rectangles.
b. Find the distance exactly.

Answer
Since there are 4 intervals to be done on a width of 20, that would be 4 per interval

Since the break points for 4 intervals become 0, 5, 10, 15,20.

The estimate would be done by 5(f(2.5) + f)7.5) + f(12.5)  + f(17.5).

To find it exactly, find the integral of v(0) and call it V(t).

Once this has been done, find V(20) - V(0).

Experience

Experience in the area: I have tutored students in all areas of mathematics for over 25 years. Education/Credentials: BSand MS in Mathematics from Oregon State University, where I completed sophomore course in Physics and Chemistry. I received both degrees with high honors. Awards and Honors: I have passed Actuarial tests 100, 110, and 135.

Publications
Maybe not a publication, but I have respond to well oveer 7,500 questions on the PC. Well over 2,000 of them have been in calculus.

Education/Credentials
I aquired well over 40 hours of upper division courses. This was well over the number that were required. I graduated with honors in both my BS and MS degree from Oregon State University. I was allowed to jump into a few junior level courses my sophomore year.

Awards and Honors
I have been nominated as the expert of the month several times. All of my scores right now are at least a 9.8 average (out of 10).
