Question

what occupations uses integral calculus, besides a math teacher?

Answer
Hi, John,

Take a look inside your calculus book; you will find a chapter entitled 'Applications of the Definite Integral' which covers finding centroids, arc lengths, areas, masses, moments of inertia, volumes, and other applications.  Many advanced books on economics will have applications as well.

Oh, wait a minute --  I said that already.  Well, keeping in mind that math teachers do not USE integral calculus, they TEACH it, how about:

Civil engineers.
Physicists.
Electrical engineers.
Chemical engineers.
Economists.
Mathematicians, not all of whom teach mathematics.
and, I suppose, a few others.

Experience

I taught all mathematics subjects from elementary algebra to differential equations at a two-year college in New York City for 25 years.
