About your integral

(x+1)sqrt(x^2+3^2-1)

Are you sure you have to calculate it?  I don't see an obvious way to actually integrate that, but it might be possible to determine convergence.  It's possible [see the web page for The Integrator by Wolfram] but really messy, and I don't think that's what you want.
