How far from Carlsbad to LAX Airport and best route to take.
Carlsbad is 91 miles from Carlsbad. Unfortunately, the best way to go is down the 405 freeway until it merges with Interstate 5. You could take the 91 freeway to I-5 south, but that's longer, and almost as bad.
You could save almost 40 miles by flying into Orange County (aks John Wayne Airport, abbreviation SNA). It's only 53 miles from Carlsbad via the 405 and 5.
San Diego (SAN) is only 35 miles from Carlsbad, and would be the most convenient airport. Just go up I-5.
