Hi Steve -
We are going to Disneyland on October 12-16. We would also like to go to a beach. We have 2 kids 6 & 2 who would love to play in the sand. Are there any good clean beaches near anaheim?  we would probably go on thursday - so hopefully there wouldn't be crowds. We would mainly like to see the ocean and have the kids play - Also - do you think it would be to cold then? Thanks in advance.

Hi Alicia,

I would recommend Huntington Beach: You have 3 choices for beaches, all of which are good: Huntington City Beach, Huntington State Beach, and Bolsa Chica State Beach. Another good option is Newport Beach. However, I like Huntington by the pier because you have restaurants and facilities nearby.

As for weather, we are in transition. Tuesday it was 100 degrees in the OC, and 80 at the beaches. This Saturday, it is supposed to rain. However, weather is generally mild this time of year. Average temps for this time of year is the 70's. I would bring the swim suits and watch the weather closely. It will probably be nice enough to play in the sand. You can get some cheap beach toys at one of the surf shops by the pier.
