California/Visiting LA during Christmas

Question
Hi,

I would be vacationing in LAX during Christmas this year and I also intend to visit San Francisco and Sea World in San Deigo. All this, in 5 days... Please guide me on the following points:

I am interested to take a hotel which is near a beach. Please could you guide me on this. The hotel should have proximity to a beach and the Disney Parks. Something like, midway between the 2...

I would also like to know if there is something special on Christmas Eve or on the 25th of Dec. I would like to be a part of the Christmas celebrations...

I have hear that the City bus tour of LA is not short of crap and that they do not cover the best of attractions? Would you recommend the best city bus tour out there, since I know for sure that I would not be able to move around the whole place, all by myself...

Just FYI, I would be travelling with my wife and 18 month old kid...

Thanks in advance for all the assistance that you can provide...

Have a great holiday season...

Answer
HI Adnan,

I'm afraid that I can't help you much for you excellent concerns.  I'm not an expert for LA hotels.  It is however unlikely that you will want to book a hotel "between" the beach cities and Disneyland.  There are a large number of family oriented motels on the boulevard between Disneyland, and the less well known, KnottsBerry Farm.  There are x-mas lights in various places in the LA area, but I'm not sure about how to find out about this either.  I doubt that a city tour bus would be very pleasant, although there are celebrity bus tours in Beverly Hills, I understand.  I'm very sorry but LA is actually my poorest skill among the tourism in California, but everything you will want know is certain to be advertised on-line.
