Question
I wonder if th weather in Late March through Monterey to Santa Barbara via San Simeon would be like?  Foggy, rainy or changeable?

Thanks for the help.

Answer
Though winter weather along the coast can be quite variable, the odds are still for cool but clear skies.  Foggy weather is more common from April through June, while the best clear weather is from August through November.  If a rain storm comes through, the coast is likely to get more drizzle than heavy rain, as the heavy rain tends to fall further inland, and these weather patterns typically last 4 days, plus or minus a few days, being most common from Dec through to early March.  Cloudy skies are pretty typical in March and April too.  Bring a wind breaker and jacket, then hope it doesn't rain.  Cold winds can blow off the coast, but if you are from most anywhere else in the nation, you probably won't find this weather particularly difficult even at its worst.  Hope this helps
