Question
hi ernest we leave sanfrancisco.sunday 7 sept 2008.we need to be in las vegas by the tue 9 sept 2008 but want to go across yosemite national park on the tioga pass route 120.we are driveing a cs30 motorhome 30 feet long. can you advise is this possible and how long will it take many thanks steve from the uk newcastle england.

Answer
Driving a motor home in the mountains is done all the time, but you will want to prepare yourself for the steep grades of the Sierra Mountains.  Basically, keep a slow pace downhill, and resist the temptation to keep pace with others.  There are many drivers who are crazy, and there are many who know the roads better than you.  Driving a motor home isn't same as driving a sports car.  I don't know the exact time, but you can find this out yourself with Mapquest.com.  Good luck...
