Question
What is the best route to take while driving from Mariposa to LV,just wanted quickest route through in a saloon car.
Mapquest says towards Bakersfield/Mojave, Live maps says the other way Lee Vining/Basalt?

Answer
Hi Gerry.  Sorry for the belated reply.  I've had a nightmare logging on.  Both ways mentioned are good, and it depends largely upon the time of year which one to take.  I'll assume that by Mariposa, you are referring to the foothill community near Yosemite, and might like to travel through Yosemite.  I'm not sure what a "saloon" car is, but I'll guess this is not an RV, but an ordinary car of some sort.  In this situation, during the summer months, take the Tioga Pass passed Lee Vining and Mono Lake, for the best scenic route of good speed as well.  The Mapquest route is efficient, the "live maps" route is scenic.  Have any more questions?
