California/Drive SFO to San Diego

Question
Hi Mr Tufft
My husband and I plan to drive from SFO 5-27- 09 to San Diego depart Jan 05 10 with our daughters 22, and 20.
I think we are ok for planning up to the Hearst Castle but am interested in what is manageable in LA.  Would you recommend 2 days in LA?  One for regular tourist attractions and one for TV tapings?  How do you get tickets for the shows?  Thanks Mary

Answer
Hi Mary,

Yes, two days are helpful because LA is so spread out.  I'm sorry but I don't know about getting tickets for game shows and TV tapings.  I do recommend a visit to the world's wealthiest museum--the Getty (there's actually two museums--see the website for details).  Not just for the collections, but because of the ongoing events and dining there.  Also, take a walk through Rodeo Drive and Hollywood walk of stars.  Your daughters will like a visit to Venice Beach and other such beach communities...Hope this helps.
