California/RV Roadtrip in California

Question
My wife and I plan to visit California in May 09. We fly to SF and stay for 4 days. Then we pick up our RV and plan to drive down the PCH to SD. Then from SD thro Joshua Tree NP, Death Valley onto Yosemite then back to SF. We plan to use 14 days for this round trip.
Could you please recommend campsites close to the coast when heading south and any suitable sites when driving north.
We would also appreciate any suggested places of interest.
Thanks and regards
Bob

This will be an adventure of a lifetime :-) If you are fit enough I recommend strapping a couple of bicycles to the RV so you can get in more adventure.  In not an expert on RV traveling so I can on provide general advice.  Check CA state parks website for RV facilities, but there are also good private RV campgrounds along your route.  In May, coastal fog in the morning is common, so look for parking places a few miles inland.  Consider though the beachside RV parking at Aptos. I'm also a fan of Morro Bay.  Consider a drive into the wine country around Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo at this time of year.  Tioga Pass may not be open from NV to Yosemite, so consider a visit to the giants in Sequoia National park.  Have fun...
