Question
When did the road 140 leading to yosemite collape?

Answer
May 2006 was the last time that I know of.  Hwy 140 snakes through a canyon at the bottom of which is the Merced River.  As the road winds east, it transitions from a heavily eroded canyon that may be older than Yosemite geologically speaking into nearly the fresh granite valley of Yosemite itself.  In any case, Hwy 140 is the "all season" low altitude entrance that never closes for very long.  When this landslide occurred, it did close the road for several months, but as far as I know, the road is open now.
