California/legoland

Question
Hi Ernest, we will be visiting both anaheim and san diego. How far is legoland from either of these places. Which would be more convevient to stay at and can you get a bus and just go there for the day, or do you need to stay at legoland.
Thanks Cass

Answer
Use http://california.legoland.com/plan/directions/ for detailed help with this.  Legoland is 1 hour south of Anaheim and 30 minutes north of San Diego, so maybe slightly easier to reach from San Diego.  However, there may be more package deals from Anaheim/LA than from San Diego in terms of discount accommodation and bus tour combo, given the urban influence of LA tourism overall.  Ideally though, I would recommend a stay in Carlsbad, where Legoland is located.  These beach cities are quite beautiful and worth a day to themselves even without the theme park.  Hope this helps.
