Question
Hi Mr. springer, i want to go camping with my family (wife and 4 yr old daughter) but i want to go to a beautiful place like a river or waterfall and stay over night in tents but i don't know where and also I'm concern about safety i been in places like koa or silverwood lake but i don't like to be in a rented space , my idea is more like open areas , please advise.

Answer
Hi Daniel,

The best place I know of that fits your criteria is Yosemite Valley. It has the Merced River, and Yosemite Falls is one of the highest falls in the world. It is awe-inspiring and beuatiful. If you want to make reservations, you need to be online on Feb 15 at 7:00 AM Pacific Time: http://www.recreation.gov/

Don't forget to bring the bicycles: You can bike all over the valley (even the 4YO), or you can rent bikes. There are some swimming pools where you can swim, and incredibly beautiful scenery. We have spent a number of weeks up there, and been camping there since my daughter was 3.

Have fun!

I was born and raised in Los Angeles. I`ve lived in the Valley, west side, east side, and South Bay, so I`m an expert on getting around town. I`m knowledgeable about all of the Southern California tourist attractions. I am also an expert on state beaches in Southern California, and have an expansive camping background. No relocation/moving questions, please.

Experience

I have lived in Southern California my entire life. I'm a "local", with expert knowledge of Southern California. I've done a lot of extensive traveling to NorCal, so I can provide answers about northern California as a visitor, and southern California as a local.

Not that this matters, but since it's required, I have a Bachelor's Degree. I also have a Master's Degree in the University of Life.
