Steve, I want to drive from West LA to Pismo Beach in the shortest time. I will leave West LA at 6;30 AM. next Monday.  At that time do you recommend PCH or the 101? Thank you

Hi Cari,

At 6:30, definitely the 405 to 101 if you want to do it in the shortest time. Unless there's some freak accident, you should be able to fly up there. There might be a bit of traffic at Santa Barbara, since there are quite a few commuters from Ventura County that work in SB. But once you pass Isla Vista/UCSB, try not to drive too fast... you might get a ticket!
