Question
QUESTION: Hi Steve,
I was wondering if you know much about site M203.  I know it says than it will only fit up to 21 feet. But, I have been told that if you back in and hang over the back curb you may fit larger RV's.  We have a 27 foot RV.  Do you think it might fit? Thanks!

ANSWER: Hi Amanda,

21 feet is the distance from the curb to the front edge of the campsite. You can hang over the back curb on most of the San Miguel Beachfront sites. You can't really do it as easily on the inland side, like 186, because of trees and a fence. But 203 has plenty of room, as long as you have 6 feet from the back bumper to the back of the tires (about 6 inches above the ground).

We've fit our 30 footer in 185, and were able to fit it into 200 (tried it one morning as I was leaving, just for giggles).

Be sure you have that 6 feet. because the hosts and rangers are sticklers about sticking out past the number. If you stick out, you'll have to leave. But my guess is that you'll be just FINE. The sound of the waves right behind you will put you to sleep at night. It's our favorite campground.

Have fun!

PS- You know there's no hookups in 203, right?

QUESTION: Wow, How nice are you!? :) Thank you!

Answer
Always glad to help anyone who camps in my favorite campground. Just went there Memorial Day Weekend.

Don't forget to hit local favorites like the Spot (burgers), the Palms (cook your own steaks), and Robitaille's Candy Store.

I met my wife at Carp, and we honeymooned there.
