Question
Are the renovations at Disneyland Hotel complete?  If not, when will they be finished?  We will be going in April 2012.  I have been reading the reviews and all seem to say that the renovated rooms are very nice but the whole complex is far from finished.

Thank you for your answer.

Answer
Hi "Inverloch",

Renovations at the DLH are still ongoing. The Fantasy Tower is nearing completion, and there is still a lot to be done on the former Neverland Pool, and the new Princess Pavilion is almost complete. No "finish" date has been given for these projects, but Fantasy Tower should be done by Thanksgiving in November. I'm not sure if the new pool area will be complete by April. Disney's been rather mum on when the project will be done.

DO you have your reservation yet? I hear that Disney won't guarantee one of the new remodeled rooms when you reserve. With 2 of the towers done, however, it seems like you'll have a good chance.

Weather's great in April, but crowds can be very high if it's during spring break for local schools, so be aware. Your room should be one of the remodeled ones, but the pool area may or may not be complete.

Check with mouseplanet.com every Monday (or Tuesday) for the latest updates. The August 16 update had some good construction pics.

Have fun!

The Grand Californian, which is closer to the front entrance than the Disneyland Hotel, is not experiencing any construction issues at this time. They have a number of great pools, including a water slide. The GC also has a private entrance to Disney California Adventure. Just something to think about...
