California/CRACK program

Question
(Hey Steve. I didn't know who else to ask.)      Am I right that there is a program/service called CRACK (Children Require A Caring Kommunity) out there? I'm sure something like it would be hard to miss.  Thanks.

Answer
Hi John,

This is not really travel-related, but I can provide some information--

CRACK was originally founded in California, but apparently uses a North Carolina address as their headquarters. There are CRACK chapters in San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento, and Fresno.

CRACK is a rather controversial organization, paying women who use (or used in the past) drugs to get birth control. They can be found on the web at www.cashforbirthcontrol.com. Another point of view can be found at http://www.advocatesforpregnantwomen.org/issues

Hope this helps,

Steve

RE: Your feedback

What do you want me to say? This is a TRAVEL forum, and you say that I don't understand your question. Yes, I don't understand why you would ask this in a travel forum, especially when I ask that you don't post homework questions. Why DID you ask, anyway? Are you a pregnant woman who needs $200 for birth control? And believe it or not, it is easy to miss out here. California is a big state, and I could easily miss a CRACK chapter if I'm not pregnant and on drugs.

If you want to know more, then make your questions more specific.

And congratulations to you. From now on, I'm not answering such questions in the future.

Expertise

I was born and raised in Los Angeles. I`ve lived in the Valley, west side, east side, and South Bay, so I`m an expert on getting around town. I`m knowledgeable about all of the Southern California tourist attractions. I am also an expert on state beaches in Southern California, and have an expansive camping background. No relocation/moving questions, please.

Experience

I have lived in Southern California my entire life. I'm a "local", with expert knowledge of Southern California. I've done a lot of extensive traveling to NorCal, so I can provide answers about northern California as a visitor, and southern California as a local.

Education/Credentials
Not that this matters, but since it's required, I have a Bachelor's Degree. I also have a Master's Degree in the University of Life.
