Question
We are traveling for the first time from salinas, ca to Pahrump, nv.  We plan to take off of Interstate 15 and "go around" Las Vegas into Pahrump.  anything interesting to see along the CA-127 route.

Hi Randall,

Unfortunately, there's nothing really interesting along 127, unless you are really into geology. Nothing but rocks and weeds as far as the eye can see. Even a game of "eye spy" gets old pretty fast. If you go a bit west, you can visit Death Valley, which has a few interesting sites like Scotty's Castle, and the novelty of being the lowest spot in North America. For me, that part of the desert is to be driven through as quickly as possible. Most times, I travel it at night, since it's much easier. I get a big Dr. Pepper in Barstow, and I'm set.
