Question
Hi Steve -
We're coming back to CA after 20 years and plan to fly into Burbank, rent a convertible, and drive the PCH up to Big Sur.  Want to see Venice
again, Malibu, Hearst, and Big Sur.  also want to drive Mulholland Dr. and Topanga Cnyn.  What do you recommend to NOT MISS in LA city.  Thanks!

Answer
Hi Halla,

What a great trip! The top "must see" things, in my opinion, in LA are:

1. The Disneyland Resort. I love it. My whole family loves it. If you haven't been in 20 years, I think it's worth a visit. Some things have changed, others have remained the same.  It really is the Happiest Place on Earth.

2. Universal Studios. A theme park that grew from a studio tour. It shows you a lot of behind-the-scenes information from Hollywood. Very entertaining for out-of-town visitors.

3. Venice Beach. Los Angeles kitsch and over-the-top culture at its best. Here you'll find Muscle Beach, street performers and tacky shops galore.

4.Hollywood. Enjoy the Walk of Fame, Entertainment Museum, Mann's Theatre and more.

5. Santa Monica Beach & Pier. Great beach scene and a classic seaside amusement park, complete with antique carousel.

Also, Rodeo Drive, Sunset Boulevard, Knott's Berry Farm, and the Queen Mary.

Have fun!

Expertise

I was born and raised in Los Angeles. I`ve lived in the Valley, west side, east side, and South Bay, so I`m an expert on getting around town. I`m knowledgeable about all of the Southern California tourist attractions. I am also an expert on state beaches in Southern California, and have an expansive camping background. No relocation/moving questions, please.

Experience

I have lived in Southern California my entire life. I'm a "local", with expert knowledge of Southern California. I've done a lot of extensive traveling to NorCal, so I can provide answers about northern California as a visitor, and southern California as a local.

Education/Credentials
Not that this matters, but since it's required, I have a Bachelor's Degree. I also have a Master's Degree in the University of Life.
