Question
Hello:

Perhaps you can answer my question regarding the Los Angeles airport.  I understand it is call something like the LAX airport. What was this airport called before its current name?

I thank you for your reply.

Answer
Huh? There seems to be some confusion here. The airport has always been called Los Angeles International Airport.

Every airport in the country has a three letter designation. San Francisco is SFO. Oakland International is OAK. New York has LGA and JFK. And Los Angeles International's abbreviation is LAX. Always has been. So, you hear a lot of people say "I got a flight to JFK", or, "I'm taking the red-eye to LAX".

So, it's called LAX, or Los Angeles International, or just LA. Take your pick. Hope this helps.
