California/Rent travel trailer for beach

Question
I am going to Doheney State Beach in July 2005 and I want to rent a travel trailer for my stay. I want the trailer delivered to the campground.

I stayed there last year and a few of the fellow campers had travel trailers that were rented. They said the rental co. brought the trailer to the campground and set it up for them. And, came and picked it up at the end of the camping vacation. I don't remember where they rented from.

My question is: Do you know of any place(s) that do that type of thing?

I think it is great that you help people and I hope I hear from you soon.

Answer
Hi Rosie,

I think that we may have to put this on the list of cool things that once were, but are no longer. I went camping at Carpinteria State Beach over Memorial Day, and we discussed the same thing. However, I have found that it is no longer possible, per a letter from alltents, a rental agancy:

*** NEWS BULLETIN ***

Dear Rental Customers,

The California State Parks Department has informed us that Rental Companies can no longer deliver & setup trailers at their campgrounds due to liability concerns.

We are still delivering trailers to private RV parks, county campgrounds, & privately owned properties.

Our rental trailers are welcomed at the State Campgrounds as long as you tow them there yourself.

If you need recommendations on trailer hitch places, please contact us at 805-644-2450. Thanks,
Darrellyn Merrit

Casitas Trailer Rentals still does it for Lake Casitas, http://www.casitastrailers.com/index.cfm

Hope this helps,

Not that this matters, but since it's required, I have a Bachelor's Degree. I also have a Master's Degree in the University of Life.
